India, Jan. 23 -- IRB Infrastructure Developers Limited on Friday announced the commencement of toll collection on key highway stretches, including the Lucknow–Ayodhya–Gorakhpur section of NH-27 and the Lucknow–Sultanpur section of the Lucknow–Varanasi NH-731.

The company said toll operations began after it made an upfront concession fee payment of ?9,270 crore to the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and achieved financial closure for the project.

Toll collection is being carried out through the project's special purpose vehicle, IRB Harihara Corridors, under a revenue-linked concession period of 20 years.
