India, Jan. 14 -- Guar seed prices edged higher in the futures market on Wednesday, rising by Rs 23 to Rs 5,533 per quintal, as investors increased their positions.
On the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, guar seed contracts for February delivery climbed by Rs 23, or 0.41 per cent, to Rs 5,533 per quintal, with an open interest of 61,665 lots.
Market participants said the rise in guar seed futures was supported by higher investor bets, even as spot market prices softened, which kept overall sentiment cautious.
