India, Feb. 5 -- Guar seed prices rose in futures trade on Thursday as investors increased their bets, lending support to the agri-commodity despite softer spot trends.
On the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, guar seed contracts for March delivery advanced Rs 52, or 0.93%, to Rs 5,663 per quintal, with an open interest of 38,070 lots.
Market participants said fresh buying and higher speculative interest helped prices edge higher in futures trading, even as spot market sentiment remained subdued.
