India, Jan. 14 -- Guar gum prices moved higher in the futures market on Wednesday, rising Rs 37 to Rs 10,265 per quintal, as speculators increased their holdings amid firm demand in the physical market.

On the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, guar gum contracts for February delivery traded higher by Rs 37, or 0.36 per cent, to Rs 10,265 per quintal, with an open interest of 58,365 lots.

Analysts said that strong cues from the spot market encouraged traders to raise their bets, leading to the uptick in guar gum prices in futures trade.
