India, Jan. 14 -- Eastern Coalfields Ltd (ECL), a subsidiary of Coal India Ltd, on Wednesday said it has commissioned the Dalmia Railway Siding in Salanpur, West Bengal, at a cost of Rs 110 crore, to significantly strengthen coal evacuation and rail logistics in the region.
The facility was inaugurated by Satish Jha, Chairman-cum-Managing Director of ECL, in the presence of senior officials and employees, the company said in a statement.
According to ECL, the commissioning of the new railway siding is expected to enhance coal dispatch capacity by enabling faster, more efficient, and reliable movement of coal, while also easing existing logistics constraints in the Salanpur area.
