India, Jan. 29 -- Crude oil prices moved higher on Thursday, with futures gaining Rs 131 to Rs 5,933 per barrel, as participants increased their positions amid firm spot market demand.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), crude oil contracts for February delivery advanced Rs 131, or 2.26 per cent, to Rs 5,933 per barrel, with a trading volume of 17,998 lots.
Analysts attributed the rise in crude oil futures to increased buying interest by market participants, supported by firm spot demand.
