India, Feb. 5 -- Copper prices declined in futures trade on Thursday as participants pared their positions amid subdued demand in the domestic market.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange of India, copper futures for the March contract fell Rs 21.65, or 1.69%, to Rs 1,260.30 per kilogram, with a business turnover of 1,141 lots.

Market analysts attributed the weakness to reduced buying interest and lower speculative bets by traders, which weighed on overall price momentum.
