India, Jan. 8 -- Copper prices declined in futures trade on Thursday as muted demand in the domestic market prompted traders to cut positions. On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), copper contracts for February delivery fell by Rs 31.75, or 2.39%, to Rs 1,294.90 per kg, with a business turnover of 5,815 lots.
Analysts said the reduction in positions by market participants, amid subdued buying interest, weighed on copper futures prices.
