India, Jan. 28 -- Copper prices rose in futures trade on Wednesday, climbing 1.26% to Rs 1,324 per kg, supported by higher demand in the spot market.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), copper contracts for February delivery advanced by Rs 16.50, or 1.26%, to Rs 1,324 per kg, with a business turnover of 34,357 lots.

Analysts said the uptick in copper futures was driven by increased buying interest and fresh positions built by market participants.
