India, Jan. 29 -- Aluminium prices surged on Thursday, with futures rising nearly 5.75 per cent to Rs 350.50 per kg, as speculators built fresh positions amid a positive trend in the spot market.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), aluminium contracts for February delivery gained Rs 19.05, or 5.75 per cent, to Rs 350.50 per kg, with a trading volume of 4,973 lots.
Analysts attributed the rise in aluminium futures to fresh buying by traders, supported by demand from consuming industries.
