India, March 13 -- ACME Solar Holdings Ltd has commissioned 142.67 MW / 481.49 MWh of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) capacity in Rajasthan as part of Phase-1 of its planned 585 MW / 2011.24 MWh BESS projects being developed through its subsidiaries.

With this development, the company's overall portfolio will require the installation of around 17 GWh of BESS capacity in multiple phases across various states.

The newly commissioned BESS units are connected to the existing Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS) network and will initially operate on a merchant basis, generating additional revenue by leveraging the price differential between peak and non-peak demand hours.
