India, Jan. 20 -- ABB India Ltd has successfully completed a critical energy infrastructure modernisation programme for Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) by upgrading the automation and monitoring systems of the Vadinar–Bina Pipeline (VBPL). The 935-km cross-country crude oil pipeline is a key asset supporting India's energy security, supplying 7.80 million metric tonnes per annum to BPCL's Bina refinery.

As part of the project, ABB undertook a comprehensive modernisation of the pipeline's automation using the ABB Ability™ SCADAvantage system.
