Pakistan, Feb. 8 -- The Federal Education Minister Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, who also heads Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P), has said the country and its parliament cannot function without support of his party.
Addressing a surgical camp for cleft lip children at Khidmat-e-Khalq Foundation (KKF) here on Saturday the MQM-P's Convener said they did not get elected to the assemblies with the support of the foreign powers but only with the public's support.
He recalled that they started their political movement in 1978 to get recognition for the people who had migrated from India after the partition.
Siddiqui said the party had given precedence to service to humanity without any racial or linguistic discrimination over politics.
