The Federal Investigation (FIA) arrested 22 Pakistanis in a fake football team scam exposed in Japan. The men were deported after Japanese authorities found forged documents during immigration checks. Officials said the suspects had claimed they were professional players traveling for scheduled matches.

According to investigators, the main suspect, Malik Waqas, collected Rs4 million from each man. He also registered a bogus club called Golden Football Trial to support the fraud. FIA officers in Gujranwala arrested Waqas and began questioning him about the scheme.
