Uniting an ethnically divided country
Sri Lanka, Nov. 19 -- The recent presidential election is a clear indication of the fact that voting has taken place based on communal lines, said President's Counsel Dr. Jayatissa de Costa who specializes in election law.
A political analyst with 49 years experience as a legal practitioner, Dr. de Costa says that Sri Lanka's voting trend based on ethnic lines is not a good thing for the country as a whole. "Especially after 1977 it is very evident that Sri Lankans cast their vote based on ethnicity and this must be stopped.
