Sri Lanka, Sept. 11 -- Distribution of cricket equipment by Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) to Kalutara district schools, clubs and cricket coaches was held recently at the Maithree Hall, Bandaragama.

The programme was organised by the chairman of Kalutara District Cricket Association Prasanna Amarasekara and co-ordinated by Kenneth Dissanayake, MIC and Teacher-In-Charge of cricket, Royal College, Panadura.

Addressing the event the chief guest Raven Wickramarathna the Vice Chairman of SLC stated that they never receive financial support from the State to spend on this National Programme and SLC is the sole sponsor supporting grass-root level cricket.
