Sri Lanka, Aug. 7 -- Samagi Spices Exports Pvt Ltd., Chairman and Managing Director Janaka Abeyratna said that there is a huge potential for raking a significant amount of foreign reserves by exporting local cinnamon to the European markets.

Samagi Spice Exports Private Limited, which was established in 1969 is a leading exporter of Ceylon Cinnamon for the last eight years. Accordingly, in the first week of July, the company exported a shipment of 2,500 kg of Geographical Indication (GI) Certified Organic Ceylon Cinnamon to a country in the European Union in the form of value added retail packs.
