Sri Lanka, Sept. 8 -- MP Nalinda Jayathissa, Minister of Health and Media, speaking to the media today(08), addressed the recent seizures of chemicals suspected to be used in the production of crystal methamphetamine (commonly known as ICE).

The Minister stated that the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and the Government Analyst's Department are working diligently to examine the chemicals, and authorities are determined to bring those involved to justice.

He highlighted that the previous state machinery had enabled activities that allowed the importation of substances used in the production of ICE. "We are not surprised that previous governments allowed such activities to occur," Jayathissa said.
