Sri Lanka, Aug. 28 -- Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa met with a delegation from the United States House Democracy Partnership (HDP) at Parliament today (27), with U.S. Ambassador Julie Chung also in attendance.

Premadasa emphasized the crucial role of the U.S. in Sri Lanka's economy, noting that nearly 24% of the country's exports are destined for the American market. He highlighted that 63% of Sri Lanka's apparel exports go to the U.S., supporting 400,000 direct jobs and sustaining the livelihoods of over one million people.
