Sri Lanka, Dec. 12 -- National People's Power (NPP) MP Ashoka Ranwala was arrested by police following a car accident yesterday (11) evening, authorities confirmed.

The accident occurred at around 7:45 p.m. when the jeep driven by Ranwala collided with a car. Three people in the car, including a six-month-old infant, were injured. The child was admitted to Lady Ridgeway Children's Hospital in Colombo, while the other two passengers and the MP were initially treated at Kiribathgoda Base Hospital before being transferred to the National Hospital for further care.
