Sri Lanka, Oct. 31 -- The Meteorology Department had provided goods and equipment to its Galle Regional Office without proper appraisal needs of the office and its location, a recent audit report for 2024 issued by the National Audit Office has revealed.
The audit report states that two lobby chairs worth Rs.236,000 were provided to the Galle Regional Office as equipment and that within four months, the chairs became rusty and underutilised.
The webcam equipment and the two TB hard drive, which had been provided without identifying the need, had not been put into use.
