Red Notices given to18 schools:
The National Dengue Control Unit (NDCU) of the Health Ministry has issued red notices to 18 schools as part of its nationwide special mosquito control programme that was implemented recently.
Addressing a media briefing held by the Sri Lanka Medical Association, National Dengue Control Unit's Consultant Community Physician Dr. Anoja Dheerasinghe said that 257 schools were inspected and 131 schools were found to have mosquito breeding sites, which is a percentage of 51 percent. She said that 37 schools with mosquito larvae were identified, which is a percentage of 14.4 percent.
