Sri Lanka, Jan. 28 -- The Supreme Court today directed that notices be served on several respondents, including former President Gotabaya Rajapaksa. This is in connection with a Fundamental Rights petition challenging alleged unlawful compensation payments to former Ministers and Members of Parliament.
The petition seeks to recover funds reportedly paid to lawmakers whose residences were set on fire during the Aragalaya protest movement in May 2022.
