Sri Lanka, Sept. 11 -- The Energy Ministry plans to install a battery storage project in Hambantota for solar energy storage aiming to well utilise sustainable energy.

The construction of the country's pioneering 5 MW and 10.7 MWh electricity storage battery system project, which aims to store the electricity generated during the daytime when solar power production is at its peak and release it to the national grid between 6 pm and 10 pm when electricity demand is at its peak, was recently supervised by the Minister of Energy Kumara Jayakody.
