Sri lanka, Oct. 2 -- The Minister of Public Security has revealed that 15-20% of newly recruited police officers are addicted to drugs. He also stated that 68 police officers have been suspended so far this year due to drug-related charges.
Speaking at the foundation stone laying ceremony for the Central Province Drug Treatment and Rehabilitation Centre, to be built in the Handessa and Mampitiya areas of Peradeniya, the Minister outlined the government's plans to tackle the drug menace in the country.
