Sri Lanka, Sept. 17 -- Agriculture, Livestock, Lands, and Irrigation Minister K.D. Lal Kantha said today that certain government-affiliated Members of Parliament are acting as if they are still in the opposition, warning that such behaviour undermines the role of governance.
"If we want to do what we did while in the opposition, then we don't need a government. At times, some MPs who are with the government act like they are in the opposition. But now we are in government. This is a time for governance, not opposition politics. Opposition-style programmes cannot be carried out while governing," the Minister told the media after attending a ceremony.
