Sri Lanka, June 20 -- Two former Presidents, former Deputy Minister Salinda Dissanayake and former MP Manjula Dissanayake have been involved in a 1,000 acre land deal in Kurunegala, Deputy Minister Sunil Ranasinghe told Parliament today.

The Deputy Minister said the land has been taken on lease by the former Deputy Minister and he had obtained a loan from the Lankaputhra Bank using it as a collateral. However the loan has been defaulted.

Former President Chandrika Kumaratunga and one of her predecessors, whose name was not mentioned, were involved in reducing the monthly lease and later scrapping it, the Deputy Minister added.
