Sri Lanka, June 25 -- Private buses operating on the Horana-Colombo route number 120 have decided to withdraw from service today (25) in protest against the implementation of a new bus service from Millewa to Colombo via Horana.
The Horana-Colombo Private Bus Owners' Association alleged that the new service was introduced by the Chairman of the Road Passenger Transport Authority without proper consultation with existing operators.
Speaking to the media, Association Chairman Janaka Gunasiri warned that if an acceptable solution is not reached, private bus operators on other routes may also join the protest in the coming days.
