Dhaka, April 25 -- Chief Advisor Muhammad Yunus has paid tribute to the late Pope Francis at the Vatican's St Peter's Basilica.

The head of the interim government offered his respects on Friday where the pope's body was laid out for the public to pay respect a day before the funeral.

The information was shared in a statement from the Chief Advisor's Press Wing.

The late pontiff was a great admirer of Yunus's work and frequently praised his efforts.
