Dhaka, March 17 -- BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has urged the party's online activists to stay alert in the face of rising "conspiracies" against democracy and nationalism.

Speaking virtually at an Iftar event hosted by nationalist online activists in Dhaka's Gulshan on Monday, he emphasised the importance of unity and vigilance.

Tarique said, "We, as political activists, have been saying for a while now that a conspiracy against the country and its people is unfolding again. The conspiracy against Bangladesh's democracy is taking shape once more."

He warned that the conspirators were targeting the foundations of the nation's democracy and sovereignty.

Addressing online activists, Tarique appealed for heightened awareness.
