Dhaka, May 20 -- Satellite-based internet service Starlink has kicked off its commercial journey in Bangladesh, offering two monthly packages costing Tk 6,000 and Tk 4,200. Customers will also need to pay a one-time cost of Tk 47,000 for the installation of the equipment needed for a connection.

Starlink received two 10-year operating licences from the Bangladesh government last month. One of them is a "Non-Geostationary Satellite Orbit Operator Licence" licence and the other is a "Radio Communication Operators Licence". Starlink started its commercial operation within a month of receiving the license.
