Dhaka, March 11 -- A joint forces operation in Chandpur has recovered in the recovery of 30 local weapons from the Dakatia River jetty.

Lieutenant Jabid Hasan, operational officer of the army camp in Chandpur, said the weapons were retrieved from the Dakatia river jetty near the city's Notun Bazar central storage facility, around 1am on Monday.

He said the operation was conducted based on a tip-off.

The weapons were wrapped in plastic bags, he added.

The recovered weapons were handed over to the Sadar Model Police Station for legal action.

Jabid added that since Sept 4 of last year, the joint forces in Chandpur have arrested terrorists and drug traffickers, while also confiscating weapons. Many of the district's drug dealers were arr...
