Dhaka, Oct. 14 -- Danish Ambassador Christian Brix Moller has met with Jamaat-e-Islami chief Shafiqur Rahman.

The Danish ambassador visited the Jamaat chief's office in Bashundhara on Tuesday morning, accompanied by Deputy Head of Mission Anders B Carlsen.

According to a Jamaat statement, Shafiqur sought Denmark's "overall cooperation and technical assistance" to help ensure that the national election in Bangladesh are "free, fair, and acceptable."

"The meeting also discussed ways to enhance bilateral trade, investment, and economic cooperation between the two countries," it added.
