Dhaka, Jan. 1 -- India's Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has visited the Bangladesh High Commission in New Delhi to convey condolences over the death of former prime minister Khaleda Zia.
He was received by Riaz Hamidullah, high commissioner of Bangladesh to India on Thursday.
Rajnath signed the condolence book opened by the Bangladesh mission.
"Sincerest condolences on behalf of the Government and People of India, at the passing of Begum Khaleda Zia, former Prime Minister of Bangladesh and Chairperson of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party," he wrote in his condolence message
"Her notable contributions to strengthening India-Bangladesh ties will always be remembered."
