Dhaka, Oct. 6 -- Four more people have died of dengue while 1,225 more patients have been hospitalised with the Aedes mosquito-borne disease across the country in the past 24 hours.

The Directorate General of Health Services, or DGHS, said as many as 465 were hospitalised in Dhaka among the new dengue patients until Sunday morning.

In addition, 267 were hospitalised in the Dhaka Division, 19 in the Mymensingh Division, 169 in the Chattogram Division, 111 in the Khulna Division, 47 in the Rajshahi Division, 53 in the Rangpur Division, 87 in the Barishal Division, and seven in the Sylhet Division.

With the new counts, the number of hospitalised dengue patients has reached 36,590 this year. A total of 186 people died among them.
