Dhaka, Dec. 16 -- Those who never wanted Bangladesh's independence in 1971 are now trying to "raise their heads" again, says BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.
He said, "The foes of our freedom, who took up positions against independence in 1971, want to raise their heads again today."
"The people of Bangladesh, who want freedom, want independence -- will eliminate all of their conspiracies and uphold the independence and sovereignty of Bangladesh and establish democracy by the grace of Allah."
The BNP secretary general's comment came after he laid a wreath at the grave of BNP founder Ziaur Rahman on Victory Day on Tuesday.
