Dhaka, Jan. 30 -- Two months after resigning from the interim government, former student advisor Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuyain has protested a bdnews24.com report that he continued to reside in a house meant for ministers.

The report, titled "Asif, Mahfuj occupy homes meant for ministers, two months on", was published on Jan 28.

In a rejoinder dated Jan 29, Asif described the claims as "completely false, fabricated and deliberate".

"I resigned on the 10th of December, 2025 and on the 31st of the same month, I duly handed over the government residence Niloy-6 on Hare Road.

"I currently live in my own residence and operate party activities from there," Asif, electioneering head of the NCP, was quoted in the statement.
