Dhaka, April 3 -- Muhammad Yunus, chief advisor to the interim government, has left Dhaka for Bangkok to attend the sixth top summit for the seven-member Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC).

He departed aboard a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight at 8:55am on Thursday, according to the Chief Advisor's Office.

The 6th BIMSTEC Summit is being held between Apr 2 to Apr 4 in the Thai capital. Yunus will hold meetings with the heads of state and government of the different attending countries on Friday.
