Dhaka, April 3 -- Muhammad Yunus, chief advisor to the interim government, has arrived in Bangkok to attend the sixth top summit for the seven-member Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC).
He departed Dhaka aboard a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight at 8:55am on Thursday and arrived around noon local time, according to the Chief Advisor's Office. Jiraporn Sindhuprai, Thailand's minister attached to the Prime Minister's Office, greeted him at the airport.
The 6th BIMSTEC Summit started in the Thai capital on Apr 2. Yunus will join the event and hold meetings with the heads of state and government of the different attending countries on Friday.
