Dhaka, Feb. 24 -- A lawsuit has been filed in Dhaka's Banasree over the shooting of a jewellery businessman and the robbery of his money and gold, naming "six to seven unknown people" as defendants.

Rampura Police Station chief Ataur Rahman Akand said the businessman's wife Hosne Ara filed the case on Monday.

No arrests had been made until 8pm, he said: "CCTV footage from the scene and the viral video are being reviewed. The doorman has been questioned.

"We are taking all necessary steps for the investigation."

Around 10:30pm on Sunday, the jeweller named Anwar Hossain was robbed just before entering his house on Road No 7 in Banasree's D Block.

He runs a jewellery shop named Alankar Jewellers in Banasree.
