Dhaka, June 11 -- Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam has confirmed receiving a letter from Tulip Siddiq, a British MP and niece of the ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina, requesting a meeting with Chief Advisor Muhammad Yunus.
Speaking at the Bangladesh High Commission in London on Tuesday, he said any response would be handled "through legal channels".
The interim prime minister is on a four-day official visit to the United Kingdom.
Tulip, in her message, expressed her wish to meet him during the trip.
She hopes the meeting will help clear up "misunderstandings" surrounding corruption allegations.
In her letter, Tulip invited Yunus to join her for lunch or afternoon tea at the House of Commons to discuss the issue.
