Dhaka, Feb. 24 -- The announcement of a new political party, initiated by the Anti-discrimination Student Movement that led the movement to topple the government and the National Citizens' Committee which was established later, is due on Friday.

The name of the party and who will be in the leadership will also be unveiled from Dhaka's Manik Mia Avenue on that day, said Sarjis Alam, chief organiser of the National Citizens' Committee and the Movement coordinator, at a briefing at the committee's office in Banglamotor on Monday evening.

He said, "The party is going to make its debut at Manik Mia Avenue adjacent to the Jatiya Sangsad at 3pm on Feb 28.
