Bangladesh, Aug. 4 -- The third phase of the viva voce exams for the 48th special BCS, focused on recruiting doctors, will begin on Aug 17.

In a statement issued on Sunday, the Public Service Commission (PSC) said the latest round of oral exams will be held at its offices in Dhaka's Agargaon and will continue until Aug 21.

As many as 5,206 candidates cleared the MCQ written exam for the 48th special BCS held on Jul 20.

Among them, 4,695 were considered eligible for the viva for the position of assistant surgeon, and 511 for the position of assistant dental surgeon. The viva for the special BCS began on Aug 6.

The PSC had published the circular for the 48th special BCS on May 29 to recruit 3,000 doctors.
