United Kingdom, July 10 -- Kate Beckinsale has shared a video of her tearing up as she sang to her mother in hospital.

The actress, 51, posted a clip online in which she performs Bye, Bye Love by The Everly Brothers, a tribute to a harmony group her mum Judy Loe, 78, was in as a teenager after forming the Four Teens band with friends Mary, Sylvia and Chris when they were 14.

Kate said she is "trying to keep the Four Teens going" as she welled up while singing in an emotional video she shared with fans.

She added in her Instagram post: "I am a very poor substitute not being a very good singer.

"But I want my mum's dearest and oldest friends in her hospital room with her.

"(Sylvia) and Chris, please know I'm trying to keep the Four Tee...
