Mumbai, March 8 -- In a unique display of women's empowerment on the occasion of International Women's Day, Akurli Metro Station has become one of the Mumbai Metro's all-women stations. Female employees stated that they felt proud to do their jobs.

Supervisor Customer Relation Management Shilpa Kailash Ahire said, "I am working in the commercial department here. I basically handle the revenue and all the customer complaints. I face challenges and try to improve on them. I am proud of my work. I am currently handling four stations. One of them is an all-women station. A lot of ladies face difficulties that they cannot discuss with male staff and have to be handled emotionally."
