New Delhi, July 31 -- Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) MP Tiruchi Siva submitted a Suspension of Business Notice under Rule 267 in the Rajya Sabha on Thursday, seeking an urgent discussion on the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls currently underway in Bihar.
The notice flags "concerns about the disenfranchisement of citizens and threatens universal adult franchise in the country."
In his letter addressed to the Secretary-General of the Rajya Sabha, the MP has sought the suspension of Rules 15, 23, and 51, along with any other business listed under any other Rule in the revised List of Business, to prioritise an "issue of urgent importance".
