New Delhi, Aug. 11 -- Union Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya on Monday called the National Sports Governance Bill 2025 a "most significant reform" in the field of sports in India since the country gained Independence.

The National Sports Governance Bill, 2025, which was introduced in the Lok Sabha on July 23, was passed on Monday.

The National Sports Governance Bill aims to provide for the development and promotion of sports, welfare measures for sportspersons, ethical practices based on basic universal principles of good governance, ethics and fair play of the Olympic and sports movement, Olympic Charter, Paralympic Charter, international best practices and established legal standards and to provide for the resolution of sports grieva...
