Trichy, Oct. 2 -- Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) leader and MP Thol. Thirumavalavan on Thursday criticised the Tamil Nadu government for not registering a case against actor and president of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) Vijay in connection with the Karur stampede that left 41 people dead.

"Is the Tamil Nadu government and police afraid of acting against him?" he asked while talking to the reporters in Trichy.

The VCK leader said that instead of admitting guilt or responsibility, Vijay was trying to gain political mileage by shifting blame onto others and targeting those in power.
