Ariyalur, July 27 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday participated in the valedictory function at the 'Aadi Thiruvathirai' Festival on the occasion of the birth anniversary of King Rajendra Chola I at the Gangaikonda Cholapuram Temple in Tamil Nadu's Ariyalur.
PM Modi also showered praise for the music composer Ilaiyaraaja who performed in a 20-minute concert.
"In a way, this is Rajraja's land of faith. Ilaiyaraaja immersed us all in Shiv Bhakti. The month of Shravan, along with the efforts of Rajraja and Ilaiyaraaja, creates a wonderful environment. I am an MP from Kashi. When I hear 'Om Namah Shivaya', I get goosebumps," PM Modi said in his address.
