Bhubaneswar, March 26 -- The Congress workers continued to protest outside the Congress Bhawan in Bhubaneswar against the Odisha assembly speaker Surama Padhy's decision to suspend 12 Congress MLAs for protesting in the well.

The MLAs were suspended for seven days on the charges of "indiscipline, disrespecting the Chair and violating rules."

Congress MLA Sagar Charan Das said that they were protesting peacefully and were raising the issue of 'women's safety'. He added that they are people's representatives and the issue is not a joke. Das further alleged the police assaulted two MLAs and stated that they would continue the protest.
